Buses
At Hikutaia School the bulk of our children are transported to school either by bus or taxis. GO Bus are our school bus contractor and the taxis is operated by Paeroa Private Hire
GO Bus – ineligible bus students are defined as a child who is nine years and under, living less than 3.2 kilometres from their nearest school or a child who is 10 years old and over living less than 4.8 kilometres from their nearest school.
Bus times – Morning – Wharepoa/Maratoto Bus leaves Hikutaia School at 7.30 a.m. to pick children up and arrives at school at 8.00 a.m.
Afternoon – Wharepoa Bus Run leaves at 3.10 p.m. Maratoto Bus Run leaves at 3.50 p.m.
Paeroa Private Hire Taxis – This service is user pay and is privately owned by Dee. Travels from Paeroa to Hikutaia School every day arriving at 8.00 a.m. Due to the number of students who use this service the afternoon run is split into two leaving at 2.50 p.m. and 3.20 p.m. depending on the numbers. Please ensure you discuss this with Dee when booking.
